ARC Aerosystems

ARC Aerosystems, based at Cranfield, UK, has taken ownership of the FAR 27 certified Pegasus (AVIAN) 2/180 gyroplane. Originally type certified in the 1960s, Pegasus is now being supported by Acroflight’s Director, John Wighton, acting as Head of Design Organisation. We are overseeing compliance verification with the UK CAA and conducting flight trials to validate the type certificate.

The Pegasus offers unique benefits such as jump take-off (JTO) capability and high cruise efficiency from its ducted propeller system. A modernised concept, the ARC P3, is also in development.

Acroflight Joins ADS

As we continue to operate across aerospace, defence, security, and space sectors, joining ADS allows us to connect with industry partners, attend key events, and expand our collaboration opportunities.

RR ACCEL: 5 World Records

Acroflight proudly supported Electroflight on the Rolls-Royce ACCEL (eNXT) project from 2018. On 19 November 2021, Rolls-Royce confirmed five new world records achieved by ACCEL, a major milestone in electric flight.

Pending DOA Approval from the CAA

Acroflight is proud to announce that our application for Design Organisation Approval (DOA) is underway. This achievement will formally recognise our ability to undertake design and certification activities to the highest regulatory standards. Our CEO previously held a DOA at another aerospace company, bringing valuable experience and a proven track record to the process. With this foundation, we are well positioned to expand our capabilities in modification, certification, and development for both manned and unmanned aircraft, reinforcing our commitment to safety, compliance, and innovation.
